The Perth East Public Library is seeking applications for one (1) Summer Program Coordinator. This is a contract position with varying hours, including days, evenings and weekends. This exciting opportunity will appeal to motivated, creative individuals who are committed to working in a dynamic atmosphere. The positions report to the Library CEO. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, leading and delivering the Summer Reading Program as well as assisting with other Library initiatives over the 2026 Summer.

Key Responsibilities
- Research ideas for programs, establish themes and organize support materials;
- Plan and execute programs for school aged children;
- Identify, contact, and partner with community organizations;
- Evaluate completed programs and prepare reports as directed;
- Promote library services and programs;
- Prepare and follow a specific summer program budget;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience planning and working with people in programs of all ages;
- Strong interpersonal communication skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Competent with technology;
- Able to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision;
- Obtain a clear vulnerable sector police check;
- Have a valid G driver’s license.
Terms of Employment
- Position Duration: June 25, 2026 to August 29, 2026
- Hourly Wage Range: $17.60
- Hours of Work: Variable, including evenings, weekends up to 30 hours/week
- Competition closes at NOON on Friday March 13, 2026
