Volunteer Firefighter - Milverton Fire Station
The Township of Perth East is seeking applications for one (1) Volunteer Firefighter to join the Perth East Fire Department.
Milverton Fire Station.
Position Overview:
Firefighters respond to emergencies including fires, rescues, and medical calls, while participating in regular training and maintaining equipment and facilities. Firefighters work under the supervision of a Captain, the Deputy Station Chief, and the Station Chief. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, physically fit, dependable, able to work well in a team environment, and meet all medical, background check, residency, and driver abstract requirements. A one-year probationary period applies.
Position Requirements and Desirable Criteria:
- Possess a minimum “G” license.
- Ability to obtain a D.Z. license within one (1) year of hire.
- Carry a pager and be a part of an on-call rotation.
- Reside within a reasonable distance of the Fire Station.
- Vulnerable Sector Check is required (cost to be reimbursed by the Township upon submission of receipt).
- N.F.P.A 1001 / 1072 Certification would be an asset.
- First Aid/CPR Certification is preferred.
- Having day-time availability is desirable.
